~ About American Legion 9th District of Pennsylvania ~
The District has a rich history of serving the community, state, and nation. And we express a one hundred percent Americanism in all we do!
Some of our local service activities include:
▪ Supporting the American Legion Oratory and Essay contests which offer school scholarship prizes.
▪ Sponsoring high school junior attendees to the annual Pennsylvania Boys & Girls State events.
▪ Sponsoring American Legion Baseball.
▪ Awarding Junior ROTC Scholastic & Military Excellence medals to worthy high school students.
▪ Providing morale and friendship support to local veteran’s homes and hospitals.
▪ Supporting local food pantries.
▪ Helping to maintain our local veteran’s cemeteries.
▪ Marching in our annual Memorial Day parades.
▪ Sending gift packages and cards to active duty military personnel deployed during the holidays.
